Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Anyone in Tel Aviv or Gush Dan?

Hey All,

Anybody in the center of Israel? I live in Tel Aviv and thought it would be fun to get a little group together. With this wonderful site, ubiquitous free wireless access and a pair of cheap portable speakers, we could have a lot of fun at any one a million cafes in Tel Aviv. It would be nice to get together for Jerry's yortzite.

Sorry, no help...did visit once, and loved it; spent most of the time in Sede Boker, Negev Desert, but the coast was beautiful upon our return. That was decades ago though.

Good luck, great to see someone from so far away...

Likewise what Tell said, though I've never been there. We do have people drop in and out from many points on the planet though... Also, though pretty sporadic nowadays it seems, do what we call Grokking a show, basically a group listen, same show, start on que and have a chat room to exchange thoughts and other highjinks. I think Wharfrat mentioned recently about getting one together, see if you can flag him down... My computer time is limited so I don't get to participate anymore, but it used to be fun...

And did I forget to say "Welcome" to this funny little cyber family! Some of the best friends I've never met are here...

Ahhhhh, the "good ol' days". Well, the Brokedown Palace Bar & Grill is still open for business, but things have been mighty slow as of late. Even the bar owner has been in absentia for quite some time. But there have been many fine nights of digital comeraderie, no doubt.

See if you can track Wharfrat down... He mentioned about getting a Grok together last week, I'm pretty sure he can supply you with links, or SDH, he made the chatroom possible. Used to do it on Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings... Was always fun, wish I was in a position to participate...
